California Science Center

It’s spring, and time for another Cultural Bus Trip! The Friends of the Thousand Oaks Library announce a Cultural Bus Trip to the California Science Center. The Science Center is featuring the King Tut: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh exhibition. This exhibition celebrates the 100-year anniversary of the discovery of Tut’s tomb. The trip includes an I-Max movie: Mysteries of Egypt, narrated by Omar Sharif and documenting the dig and other historical findings.

Organizers of the exhibition say that about 40% of the artifacts in this exhibit will be leaving Egypt for the first time; these artifacts include golden jewelry, carvings, sculptures, and ritual antiquities owned and used by the “Boy King.” Visitors will learn how the scientific analysis of this 3,000-year-old mummy reveals new information about Tut’s health and lineage. The exhibit is sure to fascinate and stimulate the imagination, so reserve your seat today!

The trip will take place on Saturday, April 28th , leaving the Newbury Park Branch at 10.00 a.m; boarding starts at 9:45. Return is approximately 4:30 p.m. The cost, which includes bus, parking, admission for the Center and I-Max, and driver gratuity, is $62.00 for Friends members and $67.00 for non-members. Lunch is either at the Science Center’s grill and food area or you may bring your own.

Please call Carol at 805-480-1450 for information and/or reservations.
