This year’s One City, One Book program is launched! This year’s title is Robert Kurson’s Rocket Men, which tells the story of the people and science behind the Apollo 8 mission, set against the tumultuous cultural and political background of the sixties.

It’s an exciting read, and there’s exciting programming to go along with it. One of the big events in February is a special screening of The Dish, on Friday, February 8 at 7 pm. Starring Patrick Warburton, The Dish is a movie about the Parkes Observatory’s role in relaying live television of man’s first steps on the moon. The film was universally acclaimed when it was released; one reviewer describing it as “A tender memoir of one of the few occasions when the world united in awe.” The Dish is rated PG-13.

Star of the movie Patrick Warburton will be the library’s special guest for the screening; he will introduce the film and do a Q&A session afterwards. Mr. Warburton is an American actor and voice artist who has starred in Seinfeld, Dave’s World, Rules of Engagement, Family Guy, and The Tick. He is currently starring in Lemony Snicket on Netflix and appearing on The Orville on Fox.

This will be a popular program; it’s FREE, but seating is limited. Tell your friends, and hope to see you there!
