The Friends of the Thousand Oaks Library held its annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon on Thursday, May 17th, at the Olive Garden. It was a full house, with nearly every sorter, shelver, online seller, and board member in the house. Members chatted and laughed and caught up with one another, and enjoyed a bountiful lunch. Carol Weiner, the event’s hardworking organizer said, “It really was such a pleasure to see that sea of smiling faces.”

Volunteers make up 100% of the Friends’ workforce, working each week to sort, categorize, evaluate, and sell donations of used books. All proceeds from the volunteers’ efforts go to support the library, keeping it the vibrant, engaged intellectual and cultural center of the community that our city relies upon. Thanks, volunteers, for all you do!
