Have you caught your breath yet from the Friends’ bus trip to the Science Center? Good! Because here comes another one! Mark your calendars for August 25, 2018, when the Friends of the Thousand Oaks Library are sponsoring a Cultural Bus Trip to, not one, but TWO local museums. First stop will be the Hammer Museum in West Los Angeles to view “L.A. Art,” an exhibit of works created by 32 Los Angeles-area artists.
After a tour guided by UCLA student art majors, there will be time to enjoy a brown-bag lunch in the Hammer Courtyard before the tour proceeds to The Annenberg Space for Photography to see “Not An Ostrich and Other Images From America’s Library.” This Library of Congress exhibit spans the history of photography from its earliest origins till today, and includes many iconic images as well as more unusual works. The Annenberg will also be showing a documentary film titled “America’s Library.” For more information on the exhibits, please visit:

The cost of the trip is $25.00 for members of the Friends and $30.00 for non-members. The bus will leave from the Newbury Park Library at 2231 Borchard Rd. Boarding will be at 9:45 A.M. and departure will be at 10: A.M. The return to Newbury Park, is approximately 5:30 P.M.
